Edward (Eddie) Hovannisian joined Carpenter & Zuckerman in 2022 as an Associate Attorney, strengthening the bench of the firm’s existing A-Team of trial lawyers. Early in his career, Eddie made an intentional decision to pursue avenues of law that would be both personally and professionally fulfilling. Eddie is passionate about effecting meaningful change, rather than simply representing the interests of insurance companies and entrenched financial institutions. As a steadfast personal injury attorney at CZ Law, Eddie is personally dedicated to the protection of people’s rights, the enforcement of corporate responsibilities, and the resulting betterment of society as a whole.
Prior to joining Carpenter & Zuckerman, Eddie worked as an insurance defense attorney at a national law firm where he gained practical experience handling various aspects of civil litigation cases, including law and motion, legal research, and written discovery. In addition, Eddie second-chaired his first trial while working for the firm.
Eddie earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2021, where he served on the governing board of the Armenian Law Students Association and participated in community-facing pro bono initiatives. While in law school, Eddie externed at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, with the Honorable Bernard Friedman. There, Eddie honed his effective written and oral advocacy skills, and also gained an appreciation for the influential role of bench memos to the judge’s ultimate decisions. Leading up to his passage of the bar exam, Eddie worked at a prominent California plaintiffs’ law firm, drafting detailed multi-million-dollar mediation demand packages for claimants who were victims of the California wildfires.
As a Los Angeles-native, Eddie proudly attended UCLA for his undergraduate education, graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. in History.
When not working on his clients’ cases, Eddie enjoys camping, cooking, and spending time with his large family and close friends.
